In big issue is system configuration. With the Yamaha you will need a system that can feed the data at 4X in to a 640K buffer. With the Kodak you start with a 2MB buffer can expand to 32MB. So price is not just recorder price. The Kodak 225 is an update of a 3.5 year ago design, the kink have been worked out. The Yamaha has been shipping about a year now. We were seeing a higher failure rate with the Yamaha, but the newer one are doing much better. The biggest factor is the usage you want from it. The Yamaha writes discs faster. If that's what you need the Yamaha is the answer.
