The hardware platform is a Apple Performa 5200 with 32MB RAM and 603 PPC CPU
with connected the following drives.
– 500MB IDE harddisk (internal) ; this drive normaly should not
conflict with any SCSI ID
– Apple 600i CD ROM (internal) ; SCSI ID : 3
– Apple 300e CD ROM (external) ; SCSI ID : 5
– NEC 4Xe CD ROM (external) ; SCSI ID : 2
– Plextor 6Plex CD ROM (external) ; SCSI ID : 4
– Yamaha CDR 100e (external) ; SCSI ID : 6
– Fujitsu M2915S-512 2,1GB harddisk (external) ; SCSI ID : 1
– CPU Performa 5200 ; SCSI ID : 7
The Apple Performa 5200 has installed Apple System Software 7.5.1 (updated);
the ollowing extentions and controlpanels are active.

When trying to mount a CD ROM (Apple System 7.5 CD) from the following drives
– NEC 4Xe Performa 5200 freezed
– Plextor 6Plex Performa 5200 freezed
– Apple 300e Performa 5200 freezed
– Apple 600i nothing happend (because not supported)
– Yamaha 100CDR ext. Performa 5200 freezed
The same problem happend on a Apple Performa 630 and Performa 6200 (tested with
the same hard-/software configuration.
On the following Apple Macintosh CPU's CD ROM Toolkit 1.5.2 runs without any
problem (tested with the same hard-/software configuration).
– Power Macintosh 8100/110 no problem
– Power Macintosh 8100/100 no problem
– Power Macintosh 8100/80 no problem
– Power Macintosh 7100/80 no problem
– Power Macintosh 7100/66 no problem
– Power Macintosh 6100/66 no problem
– Power Macintosh 6100/60 no problem
– Quadra 800/840AV/950/900/700 no problem
I hope to do the test with a Apple PCI Power Macintosh 9500/120 and a 9500/132
within the next couple of days.
What can be done about the problems on the Apple Performa 630, 5200 and 6200
????
