<<Here's the system I'm looking at picking up. It's an HP 8 gig 4mm DAT drive (HP1533A external) bundled with the RENDER-TO-DAT software from AeroData Im using the HP1533a (aka Jetstore 6000 ) and it works great. I havnt used the 8mm machines so I cant comment, but in any case I would check with the service bureau to insure compatibility. The other thing is you might talk to Jim Dempsey at Tapedisk ( 414 231 3333 cis 73777,145 ) Their software does a good job of turning a tape into a drive. Also he knows a lot about tape drives; hes the one that recommended the HP a very reliable 4mm drive. Another thing is that 8 gig is with compression which is optimistic when dealing with already compressed files like PAR ani's. Even without compression DAT is very cost effective. Ed
