#3D glint boards
>> Thanks a lot for this information – I really think Autodesk should have
some kind of hardware acceleration – I was unsure that OPENGL was something
Autodesk 3-D studio used – I thought it was HOOPS. Has R5 gone to OPENGL?
Does it support multi processing so you can render and design at the same
time? <<
R5 runs on Windows NT which runs OPENGL. 3D accelerators like the GLINT,
Lockheed Martin R3D-PRO100, and ELSA boards should be able to take advantage
of that fact. Yost Group will neither confirm, nor deny R5 support for the
OPENGL stuff in NT. What _better_ reason would they have than to provide
real-time previews that were previously unavailable except on high-end SGI
systems.
Of course there are other advantages to NT…. multi-processor support, a
32bit op sys, etc, but this isn't the Microsoft Advocacy group.
