<< i think it is always in the hands of the consumers to "know the right time" to do any purchases. PMFJI You must have the patience of a saint to be so serene in the face of released software that has bugs all over it. I agree that it dosnt make sense to expect a release for an OS that isnt released yet. On your other points about x.0 versions I have a couple of thoughts. Imagine if hardware folks acted like software folks and you had to take your new car to the shop 20 times for patches before it would run right. Its a lemon, and so is software that dosent do what the specs promise. The standard of the industry seems to be that we are all beta testers; you gave several good examples such as corel 4 and wp6. But these products are not sold to us with an "almost works maybe" sticker on them. We are lied to by companies whose marketing divisions have probably pressured their developers into premature release. One exception seems to be not autodesk (witness Animator Studio traffic on this forum ) but the Yost group. I didnt have significant problems with rel 3.0 or 4.0 ( I havnt bothered with the patch). Heres hoping they keep it up. Im not saying that a patch means that the program was released prematurely, Im saying that a full release of a product should be essentially troubly free and a productive tool. Ed
