PMJI Brian, >> That means that one station probably won't be able to run 3DS while you are network rendering. (Of course, it doesn't have to be a powerful station. That one could be an old 386/486 that you have.) But if you want ti use WFW for other things that it can do…it will work for 3DS as well. << Just thought I'd let you know that I've got WFW running on 10base T Hub with twisted pair and everything works fine I've got One Pentium 60 as a file server and another Pentium 60 as a slave running DOS as well as another 486DX2/66 Running as a Slave. Every thing works fine and I've discovered that if you set up 3D Studio to run using the VGA Drivers on the Pentium FileServe and run it in a DOS Window you can Start your Fileserver and all your slaves rendering then ALT-TAB out of the DOS Window first version of 3DS4 and Start a Second Instance of 3D Studio then set it up as a Slave. I've found that the Pentium 60 running two versions of 3D Studio and QEMM to dynamicly handle the memory allow me to also use the FileServer as a Rendering machine and it Renders about as fast as the 486DX2/66Mhz or just a tad faster with the two instances of 3D Studio Running on the one machine. After the Render is all over I Just quite the rendering version of 3D Studio and when the screen goes black I hit Q for quite and stop the first instance as well.. Then I'm back in Windows and can gracefully quite. Just thought I'd mention it as it can be done.<BG> Murph'
