<<Her dad is thinking of the IBM 300 series, 90mhz Pentium version. I suspect this is overkill. Would you please give a quick summary of system requirements/recommendations for your product?>> Richard, Generally speaking, I personally don't think its a bad idea to get a Pentium 90 system to start out in 3D Studio. If your neice's father is willing to pickup the tab and she is really a serious student, she'll be glad to have the horsepower as 3DS is a very demanding package on CPU's. Oh yeah and you suspect correctly, it IS pricey software. Approx $2600 street price….however if she's a full time student she may be eligible for an educational version which is from my experience the same as the commercial version but costs well under $1000. You'll have to call Autodesk and get in touch with your local authorized educational dealer to see if she qualifies. But as far as hardware goes, all I will say is…. get as fast an Intel Processor as is affordable and at the very least get 16 MB or ram (I'm being very conservative, considering its for educational use & upgradable later). I'm sure some of the others on the forum will chime in their suggestions. Good luck. Kim
