Flat Figures in 3DStudio

I usually do this by creating a special opacity map in a paint program. I just select the background (usually this is easy if it is pure black or blue or something.) Then I make all these areas black (transparent in 3ds). I invert the selection set and make the rest pure white (opaque in 3ds). Then I use this mask as the opacity mask. I just have to map the material (with the person as the texture map) onto a plane that I usually create by getting a shape from the 2-D shaper. I hope that this help. Sincerely, Matt Harrison
