Hot off the presses, here is the new policy on distributing the player: This information can be downloaded as ASL_DIST.TXT. AUTODESK, INC. POLICY ON PLAYERS INFORMATION SHEET This information sheet sets forth Autodesk's policy regarding the copying and distribution of some of its players and associated libraries (jointly referred to as the "Players"). 1. Autodesk permits the copying and distribution of the following Players*: AAPLAY.EXE ANIPLAY.EXE AAPLAYHI.EXE AAWIN.EXE 2. Other supporting files which may be freely copied and distributed include the following: AAPLAY.DLL MCIAAP.DRV VBPLAY.VBX VBPLAY.EXE AAVGA.DLL AASHOW.EXE Additional files which fit into this category are available in Animation Support Developers Kit from Autodesk. 3. The Players should not be modified, except they may be recompiled so that they copyright notice of Autodesk does not show up on the splash screen for your animations. Proprietary notices which are embedded in the code should not be removed. 4. Products which include a Player should include a copyright notice in the documentation for the Player indicating that the Player is copyrighted by Autodesk, Inc. *Other players may be subject to restriction.
