"When I try to save out a flc in AAS using the to bitmaps palette check box I
get strange interlacing lines sometimes when I check the dither option –
undithered is OK. I have already sent you a bug report (via compuserve) which
you haven't replied to I even sent some GIF file examples
Can you help?"
I am afraid that after checking we still cannot find your earlier bug report
(hopefully it went straight to QA and that's why we can't find it). And the
GIF examples?
A bug has been written up that sounds like your problem, however. It has to do
with the changes made to the colors after the file is saved as a flic. For
instance, if I load a new, 1 frame 320×200 flic,it has a white background.
Using the eyedropper from the toolbar, I see that the value is 255,255,255 for
the rgb values. If I save as a 256 color flic (dithering option can be on or
off), the flic file now on the screen shows 254,254,254. I believe that saving
as a flic is incorrectly reducing the colors. Unfortunately, in this case,
it's reproducible in c1, so do not expect to see your problem go away with c1.
If you think that the bug I'm referring to does not adequately answer your
concerns (in other words, fixing my bug won't fix yours) then would you mind
resubmitting the bug? Autodesk (Product Support or QA) should reply to you
with a minimum, "Yes, we received your bug report and files." I'll check with
QA to see if it arrived there.
