I guess I'm missing something here, but how do you resize a selection? << the wording on this tutorial is confusing. let's start from scratch. <g> 1) start a brand new session of Animator Studio, and open the file ABOUT.AVI. 2) a new dialogue appears, fitted to the size of ABOUT.AVI. move your cursor to the bottom right corner of the dialogue and stretch the corner further to the right and further down so that the image of the movie is centered with plenty of free space about it. 3) activate the rectangle tool, and set the ink to Filter. right click on the ink to set the ink's properties. set the filter settings to "filters" (not extensions) and "pagecurl" and close the properties dialogue. 4) activate the time mode toggle (instead of frame mode) 5) toggle the first keyframe button [x which takes you to frame 1. 6) using the rectangle tool, pick two points which define a rectangle over the complete right edge of the image. your rectangle should be a little bit taller than the image, and only about 1/20 of the image width, so that it is "centered" on the image's right edge. 7) toggle the second keyframe x] which takes you to the last frame. 8) notice that the handles and boundary of your rectangle are still visible. move your cursor to the upper left handle of the rectangle and pick on it, then stretch the handle so that the upper left handle of the rectangle is to the upperleft of the image's upper left corner. (this is what was meant by resize… a stretching of the handle) 9) go to the action pulldown and press preview. the complete effect in keyframing is to create a narrow rectange over the right side of the image which expands (to the left) across the entire image. make sense? preview should show the rectange boundary extend to the left over the total frames. 10) use action pulldown, render. violah. if you're still having trouble, let me know… i'll shoot you some screen captures. -dave
