#CBM posts earnings!!
This message turned up in search, but its forum couldn’t be identified from the original transcript, so it may not be linked into its thread.
First of all I would like to ask the Sysops (Don, Steve, Larry) to check
with the guys at OLT for biased reporting. They have already put up 2
(TWO!) reports for Atari (one on their earnings and one on the release of
the Mega-ripoff ST) and I freaked today when I saw them posting the
earnings of Tandy and not of CBU. For goodness sakes!! THEY ARE ON THE SAME
PAGE!! (Everyone is sabotaging the Amiga. Try to read the latest Computer
shopper. The guy who is doing the review for the ST CAD-3D is also talking
about COMDEX and not a word about the Amiga. Even Pournelle said in
Infoworld that the Amiga was THE!! booth of COMDEX. Anyway, send flames to
John J. Anderson. He is on CIS and pro-ATARI all the way.) Moving ahead,
here are some of the highlights of the article reprinted without permission
by WSJ. For the full report look in Wednesday's WSJ page 8.
"COMMODORE NET ROSE 75% West Chester, PA. Commodore Int. Ltd. reported that
earnings jumped 75% in the fiscal fourth quarter, its fifth consecutive
quarterly profit….. For the quarter ended June 30, Commodore had net
income of $2.1 million, or six cents a share, compared with $1.2 million or
four cents a share, last year. …. For the year Commodore had a profit of
$28.6 million or 89 cents a share, compared with a loss of $127.9 million
in fiscal 1986…."
Nice going COMMODORE!!! Nice going AMIGA!!! Now with the 2000 and some ads
and we are all set.
By the way, contrary to what Marlene/SYSOP said, I heard that some
(selected) developers have received or are just receiving the WC A2000 (US
design) with all the peripherals that Marlene mentioned. This is very much
confirmed from high enough sources. Also that the WC A2000 will be shipped
with the V1.21 Kickstart for autoboot from Hard disks. (This is not
confirmed).
Hope these news made your day, and Sysops, please someone tell OLT that we
Amiga users are here too.
