Your points are well-taken. It indeed would have been nice if a
little more effort was put into some of the seminars; in particular, I was
a little aghast that the one on MIDI sequencers didn't even include a MIDI
keyboard hookup. I also share your fears about a proliferation of games
giving non-Ami converts an excuse for continually dismissing the Amiga.
However, the only people I would think would be swayed completely away from
it from such observations might be business users, and that's an uphill
battle anyway. The rest of us realize that games put a machine through its
most difficult paces, and you can an awful lot about the capabilities and
weaknesses of a machine by how well such games play, though the end pursuit
may seem a bit silly. (Did you catch the exploding 3D Barbie in the
3D-goggles booth? Now THAT's weird!)
There was certainly room for improvement, no doubt. However, as a
member of an organization that's putting something similar on in Dayton on
the 20th, I know how difficult it is to do everything right, so I may be
more tolerant.
I don't suppose anyone videotaped RJ's performance, eh?
