#IFF screengrabber
I am in need of a program for the Amiga which would duplicate the
intricate graphical cut-and-paste functions of the Macintosh. In essense,
it would temporarily stop all tasks and allow the user to go to any screen
and lasso-cut a piece of that screen. The screen would then be saved to
RAM (or disk) as an IFF file.
A program with capabilities like this would be very handy. For instance,
it would allow the user to have a graphical word processor (like
excellence! or the upcoming WordPerfect 5.0 for the Amiga) and a mandlebrot
program multitasking. A piece of the mandlebrot screen could be outlined
and saved to RAM, which would then be used in the word processor.
Quite frankly, considering the usefullness of the graphical
cut-and-paste capabilities of the Macintosh, I am quite suprised that a
program like this has not yet been written. The idea is quite simple (just
lasso cut a piece of any screen and save it as an IFF file), yet I know of
noone who has yet tackled this idea.
