Tom, No, I didn't miss that, I was merely pointing out that not all persons are equal at all tasks. If I took a photograph of a scene, composed it in a method that I thought was inspiring and then gave it to an artist (paint and brush type) to turn into a painting…I have in fact sub-contracted 'art' in that my inspiration was turned into reality by someone more skilled than I. I could sit behind this person and tell him the color wasn't quite right, or the effect wasn't quite right. I could not create this on my own, but that doesn't mean I couldn't have someone else do it. I'm NOT saying that this is normal, or even easy…but it could be done. Ansel Adams could have had an assistant cart the camera around, told the assistant how long to make the exposure and where to point the camera. The assistant could have developed and printed the picture according to strict instructions from Mr. Adams. None of that means the work was any less Mr. Adams' work than if he had done it 100% himself. Again, not the normal method of doing things…but not impossible. Don
