Would you consider the Pyramids of Egypt, Great Wall of China, Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, the land paintings of the Mayans, and (almost) endless other examples to be without "artistic merit"? They were no doubt "subcontract[ed] … [to] technically proficient soulless dullard[s]".
