Vic, If a painter works from a specification, don't we have a situation of 0% inspiration, 100% perspiration? I recollect that (at least during the '60s) Andy Warhol never referred to himself as an "artist," but only as a "painter," as in House Painter, painting not pictures but very tiny walls. A craftsperson takes the craft seriously, and if the definition of "art" is "that which the producer takes seriously" then the craftwork perforce is "art." Fahr'n fahr'n fahr'n auf der Autobahn.
