How many rewrites do you think Oscar Wilde went through in the three days he
took to complete "The Picture of Dorian Gray?" How many did Rilke use on the
Sonnets to Orpheus? How much rewriting do you think Bach did during the time
he was turning out a complete piece every week?
These are incontrovertible examples of work that was 99% inspiration, 1%
perspiration. I don't think you can find the equivalent anywhere in
programming.
