Sir. I fail to understand why you have brought forth yet another argument which stands squarely AGAINST your faction, mainly the apple-is-like-a-banana fringe. To wit: "… I… only hope that since it is not necessary to peel an apple in order to eat it, that this mitigates somewhat the damage this does to the "banana is like an apple" party." Clearly, you have unwittingly stumbled across yet another proof in the plain and obvious path to the conclusion that a banana is more like an orange than it is like an apple. Which is that an apple peel is completely and wholely edible and is, in fact, normally consumed along with the fruit; whereas neither the orange peel nor the banana peel are typically considered edible. As for the core issue, I remain firm in my stance. As I believe I stated, in the NORMAL MODE OF HAND CONSUMPTION of these fruits, the "core" of the orange, as you so humorously label it, is not a distinct entity and is consumed along with the slices, whereas an apple core is left behind. Indeed, since this pectin which you insist on mislabeling also exists about the OUTER edge of the slices as well as in the center, I find it difficult to believe that you can honestly offer this as evidence supporting your case. <continued>
