O.K., 'Bow Babies … Here's a game you may remember from long ago. I came across this copy while sorting through some old disks. Now, you may have played versions of StarTrek before, but not like this, Ah Gar-un-tee! This started as the good 'ol BASIC version, but I added VT-100 escape sequences to it, and it really flies… I implemented some windows on the top half of the screen (Long and Short Range Sensors), and all of your input scrolls on the bottom half. The torpedoes move on the Short Range display, Klingons disappear when destroyed, and the Long Range Sensor updates automagically. There's a COMputer function that shows the 8×8 galaxy, but only the sectors that you've visited (current location shows as blinking). The fire-control and navigational functions are _very_ handy when your sensors are damaged, because they're blanked! Even though I haven't worked on this puppy since 1987, it's still habit-forming, if only to watch the displays. I _think_ it will even look nice on a IBM with ANSI.SYS installed. Look in the New Uploads Area (when Bill & Bill get a chance to verify it) for STRTRK.EXE, a self-extracting archive. (You can use TREK or STARTREK to BROWSE for it if you forget the spelling.) Trust me – this one is worth the download time!!!
