#Termination ?
Hilary,
It also depends on whether the controller card you are attaching the tape
drive to has an external connector and whether you are going to be using
that connector instead of using the daisy-chained ribbon internal
connector. On some contollers the external chain requires its own
termination and you may need to leave the termination packs on both
devices if you are using the external connector.
Whether you find termination resistors on the drive also depends on what
type of drive it is (SCSI I or SCSI II). On some of the new SCSI II
drives there are no removable termination packs. There is instead a
jumper (usually called TE) which if set turns on the termination and if
removed (again this is usually the case) turns off the termination.
If you need more information, please give us some additional information
so that we can offer better assistance, i.e. model number of drive,
controller card being used, using external connector or internal, etc.
