Again, even if an editor displays control charaters, it might not display all ctrl characters. Also, some "extended ASCII" characters may cause problems and not be see in the editor. Lastly (for my limited thinking), you may be having problems caused by the line terminator(s). Don't know what the Word processor wants but it could be choking because it is expecting CRs only (or something similar).
