I tended to try lots of software I hadn't purchased, and justified by intending to buy the ones I used and erase the ones I didn't (treating them like Shareware). Of course, "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions". The list of good software I was using quickly outstripped my financial ability to buy them. However, I DO believe that I have caught up now. I OWN every program I use, and decline offers of copies of commercial programs. Why the change of attitude? I really don't know. Partly because I've written some shareware programs, partly because I can now buy my programs at dealer cost, but mostly probably because I've "grown up". It's certainly not because I have more money to spend! hehe… When I need a program I can't afford, I now jump into the PD/Freeware collections and try to find something that will do the job.
