Yes and no. Sure, don't break what you don't have to break… but if you've trying to advance the state of the art for your processor / machine family, don't worry about backwards compatibility. If you did the job right the last time, it shouldn't be a significant concern. But with AmigaDOS 2.0, we're right where cynics (like me 🙂 said we'd be: Even though CBM started out by saying they wouldn't break anything; they did; and because they started the project with the foolish, inexperienced and arguably incompetent notion that they wouldn't break anything and therefore couldn't really add any advancements or features, we're now stuck with a half-hearted attempt at an operating system upgrade, and we've been waiting three years for it. Yippee.
