Just an interesting little side note. Here in Milwaukee we enjoy the annual GenCon gaming convention, largest in the world. Something like 15-20,000 people go through the doors every year to play board games, miniatures, and computer games. The local Amiga interest group always sets up a large playing area with borrowed machines, and interconnects them in a little local network (yes, the Amiga can be LANed, and pretty effectively, too). Then the attendees play Amiga computer games in contest with one another (some of these games allow multiple participants across terminals). CBM is getting interested in participating formally, I'm given to understand. A lot of Amigans rebel at showing games off on their machines, since we don't like to be thought of as owning "toy" computers. But think about it: if a computer can run a hi-res simulation game with digital stereo sound effects without breathing hard, right out of the box, even though it's only a $500 A500, what does that say about it's other capabilities? Me, I think more such set-ups could sell lots of Amigas to aspiring, creative types.
