KY>> Imagine the poor folks – now 'realizing' that Multi-tasking is a 'good KY>> thing' desperately scrambling to get any kind of functional (read: KY>> useable) 'hack' tacked on top of MS-DOS. Very true… of course, I find Desqview a VERY usable hack on my '386. But I'm seriously considering a switch to OS/2 when 2.0 comes out (geesh ANOTHER computer experiencing a long wait for a 2.0 release of it's OS). Under OS/2, I'll have multithreaded multitasking written in at the lowest levels, be able to multitask what? 11 DOS applications at once, and even run Windows 3.X programs. And true, I'll need a fast '386 with at LEAST 4 meg of ram to start doing this. But then again, to get my Amiga up to the speed of my '386 and to multitask more than two of my applications, I had to go to a 5 meg ram '030 based Amiga. Where's the difference? BTW, for someone who has only used a 68000 based Amiga, it may seem fast enough and a 33 Mhz '030 system may seem like lightning… but it is really just on a par with my 25 Mhz '386 (Ok, potentially twice as fast… but who's counting.. <G>)
