#New modem settings
My boss just gotthe Supra 14.4 Fax/modm (external) so we could transfer
files.
The FAX software worked fine, but the supplied comm program ATALKIII was
rudimentary at best.
I have also been unabl to communicate with his modem at 9600 BAUD when
trying to talk to my US Robotics WorldPort modem.
He is able to call other BBS' at 9600, and I can call the same BBS w/o
problems. We even CONNECT 9600, but neither machine seems to receive the
chars typed by the other (this is not a problem with full/half duplex). I
have a feeling that there is some incompatibility between the 2 modems, but
have not been called back by Supra yet.
I would still recommend the Supra (you can get a set of Windows Fax/modem
software for an extra $30 from Supra), but beware that there seems to be
problems with when connecting to other 9600 baud modems.
He got the Supra Fax/Modem bundle w/software for Amga for$379. Seems like a
good price.
BTW, If anyone knows what is wrong with my setup, please put your 2 cents
in.
