Dennis, I've only had the board a couple of weeks, and I haven't worked with the Video Toaster more than a few minutes a year ago when I visited a local independent studio. In other words, I don't think I can properly compare the two for _your_ purposes. My system is an A2000 with an A2620 board, 7M RAM (1M chip), 105M Quantum. I'm also running an A2386 BB and have 30M of the hard drive set aside for MS/DOS. I teach math, physics, and some computer science, so my setup includes a lot of productivity work, demos, and graphics. I've found the ability to save from ADPro directly to the OpalVision board is sweet! The image goes to the OpalVision board memory, so I don't have as much trouble with chip memory. I used Imagemaster R/T briefly, retargeted for the OV, but it is such a hog for memory that I save that monster for the really tough problems. Also, I can do very good local sharpen, blur (smooth), and retouch from OpalPaint. So far, OpalPaint has lived up to the raves in the magazines. (One of the very few things I miss is the animation capabilities of DPaint. I'm trying to work around that.) Wish I had more to tell you. Good luck. C F Coats –> via AutoPilot
