CD-I VS. CDTV
Depending on who answers to who, I think there's alternatives to 1)
printing glowing reviews, 2) not printing a review if it's not glowing, or
3) printing a bad review and losing the advertising. Why more magazines
don't invite rebuttals and statements from the competition, I don't know.
I think it would be fun and interesting, I'd buy a magazine if it showed me
more than one viewpoint. Yes, it's complicated to arbiter the order and
placement of each attack and counterattack, but I'm sure there's analogies
you could borrow from to do it, like a courtroom, or Robert's Rules of
Order, etc. If Gold Disk isn't willing to defend itself against the
product's failings in print, how can they object?
