Transwrite 2.1 problem
I need some help with Transwrite 2.1. It has worked flawlessly for a nearly
two years but now keeps blowing me away with certain files. I am trying to
import Wordperfect 5.1 files into an empty TW window. The files are quite
short and don't have much in the way of formatting. They will load fine
into the ProPage article editor, but I need to get them into Transwrite for
greater manipulation.
Whenever I import one of these WP files, I lose some of the screen border
markings within Transwrite and some of the menu pulldowns (or all of them)
refuse to work. Closing the program leads to a yellow recoverable alert on
Error 0100 000C, and sometimes a system crash. I also get low CHIP memory
warnings even though I've plenty of RAM. Other programs running after the
disturbed Transwrite also report low CHIP RAM. Several WP 5.1 files seem to
load okay. This particularly troublesome file is very similar and loads
okay into Wordperfect for MS-DOS.
The trouble persists even though I've reinstalled Transwrite to my system
and moved the offending WP file to the hard drive (I had been loading it
via CrossDOS).
I have an A2000HD with 1 meg of chip, 2 megs of 16-bit, plus a Mega Midget
Racer and 8.5 megs of 32-bit RAM. No viruses appear to be present. >>>> Ron
