I've run into that with genealogy software. Each author who has asked me to test his program has already decided exactly what he intends the program to do before I'm ever asked. Most of them are really pathetic in comparison to the software available for other computers, but these authors tell me right up front that the program does what they wanted to do, and that they will not make any changes. I'm only to look for bugs that crash the program – not to make suggestions for additions or changes. The fellows are good programmers, but pathetic genealogists!
