John, If the numbers in the status bar do not match the page numbers showing in your header or footer, then the starting page number has been changed. You should check in View Header/Footer, Page Numbers for the start number in each section of your document. Then, to ensure correct page numbers in the table of contents, you should turn off hidden text and field codes, then position the insertion point inside the table of contents and press F9. To view the entire list of styles, you can choose Format Style and press CTRL+Y. Then when you click the down arrow for the Style names, you will see all the standard styles that come with Word, plus any that you have defined. (This does not work in the Style box on the Ribbon.)
