Generally speaking, LHA132.RUN will handle all of your .LHA and .LZH
files. You will need ARC.EXE for some files, and PKAZIP (if you plan to
get files from PC users). Those tend to be the most widely used
compression formats.
I keep a floppy disk(s) around that contains every de-compression program
I can find. Seems like as soon as you take one off your hard drive, the
next file you download requires it!
Anyway, all that I keep on my hard drive is:
ARC
LHA/LZH
ZOO (which rarely gets used)
PKAZIP (for my msdos files)
SIT (on my AMAX mac hard drive partition…for mac files)
