Programs like Works make sense on single thread systems like the Apple II, MS/DOS, etc. But if I can run multiple programs at once, why should I run your ok word processor/spreadsheet/data base when I can run a great word processor, great spreadsheet (if we had one), and great database all together only when I need them all together. Instead, invest your time in doing a really good spreadsheet. Cut and past to the clipboard, so I can cut a column of numbers and paste them into Final Copy or Excellance! Get an Arexx interface that really can work in two directions. You can get the product out faster, and have it do the intended job better. Programs that include everything the user might need are generally big, slow, and buggy. Take a lesson from the UNIX pipes. A small program that does it's job really well and can work with other small programs (that haven't even been thought of yet). Commodore has supplied a good base to build on, and Arexx supplies the glue to bind the programs together. Works only works, because I can't call up the spreadsheet I would rather use while I have the word processor up. On the Amiga I can, and that is what makes the Amiga a better system.
