To Whom It May Concern – Microbotics has joined the Amiga Vendor section, and since they DO NOT support the AMAX software on their Microbotics StarBoard SCSI Controller, I would like to begin a letter-writing campaign to convince them to make the .AMHD driver available for their SCSI controller. Having sold my old AMAX Cartridge system to a friend with a Microbotics contoller, we were disillusioned to find that there was no .AMHD driver for his system. This is probably because the old StarBoard controller doesn't support Rigid Disk Blocks. We looked on Genie (where Microbotics has a SIG) and there were some HEATED arguments as to exactly who was responsible for supporting the AMAX – Microbotics or ReadySoft? It seemed appearant that Microbotics wanted NOTHING to do with supporting this product. This is really too bad, as I had owned a StarBoard with my A1000, and always found the company to be helpful when asking for support. Maybe if enough people out there POLITELY request their support, Redmond Simonsen(moderator of the Amiga Vend SIG, & President of Microbotics) will capitulate and consider supplying such a driver. (Heck, I'd even pay for one now . . . :^) Anyone who has a StarBoard on an A1000 and would like to be able to use their AMAX with a hard disk partition (the only way to fly :^), please send a polite requesr to Microbotics Inc., Redmond Simonsen – Pres., Amiga Vendor Section 16, CIS #75300,3665. PLEASE try be as pleasant and subservient as possible when requesting his aid, as I can tell he is REALLY dead set against supporting the AMAX emulator. Maybe if we can convince him that he could make a few bucks off of it? :^) (Judging from the flame-fest I read on Genie, I get the feeling it's more of a sense of moral outrage at using an Aimga as a Mac, than a money concern though :^( Thanks in advance, Erik Flom
