Hi Bernie, The SBPro will only work with the CL/Matsushita/Panasonic CDR drive. I don't know of anyone else making one that is compatible. There are two different models of the SBPro, with a couple different 'versions'. The original SBPro uses two FM chips to give you stereo, while the newer SBPro II (or SBP2) uses one 4-op OPL3 chip. The earliest version of the original SBP didn't have proper DMA handling circuitry, so a DMA Share/Non-share jumper was added. The SBP2 Basic is the same as the full SBP2, but the package doesn't have the MIDI software and connector kit. The PAS Plus is very similar to the SBPro, but is less expensive, has better on board mixing and amplification, and has a standard SCSI port for use with any standard SCSI device. The PAS-16 is a more advanced model that is a true 16-bit card. It has separate circuitry for it's SB emulation, which MV guarantees at 100%. Which is best for you depends on what you already have, what you will use it for, and how much you have to spend on it. If you don't have any of the equipment, your best value will come from buying a package, or MM kit. These include a variety of other items, like CD's, Microphones, speakers, etc. A good way to do it is to look around some and find what you like, and then ask specific questions about those products.
