I think Brian has a good option. Get your basics and then go to NAB.
Non-linear is the next step, and will save lots of time and $$ in
the long run.
Specific point of interest: you have not included a digital audio
card, very useful item for fix'n and chang'n audio for video.
Take a look at the Sunrize bd.
Also, look into the Mackie audio mixers, their specs are great and
so are the prices, plus Mackie has an automation option for their
1604 mixer.
