Bill: I agree. A smart developer would pick out three or four independent
packages he thinks are good. Maybe Quickwrite, Superbase Personal,
whatever. All the picks should have ARREXX. Then get a licensing agreement
to write a front end using ARREXX and maybe something like CanDO to
integrate the packages into an easy menuing system. Sell the whole shebang
bundled. The programming time would be greatly reduced. Of course,
manufacturers might not like to see their products bundled with the
competition. In which case, just sell the front end, and tell buyers to go
get the individual packages on their own. The one disadvantage to this,
which Marc Speth notes, is that the packages will not have a completely
uniform look and feel. But they will be powerful together, if the linkage
is done right. A real value-added service to those of us who don't have
time or the inclination to write our own ARREXX interfaces. >>>> Ron Legro
