Dom, I'm not certain, but I'd think that one could take precautions against the ink drying up. Too much swapping could be a real ink waster, though, in terms of initializing the printer. I only made the point because I didn't realize at first that it was possible to use a standard black-only ink cartridge in the printer until I asked about it. That way, you can use it for a normal printer, and only print color when you specifically need color. David
