My C programming efforts were/are sort of laughable too (compared to a lot of the people on this forum), but the only way to get better is to keep writing code. Any time I start to feel egotistical, I take a look at the first COBOL program that I wrote in 1966 (I keep it for that reason). I have been playing with C for about 4 years, but really haven't written too much. About 20 small programs (100-200 lines) for a pilot system that my company shelved and a few programs to convert files from one format to another. Stuff like Fixed to Comma Separated Value and COBOL record layout to BNF expressions for a CASE tool that I'm using. Keep on trying with the programming. It'll keep your blood pressure from getting too low <g>. BobS P.S. There is a program on the PC (Word For Word) that purports to be an omni-converter. It does a lousy job with fonts, styles, and graphics. If you have straight text with bold, italics, or underlines, it does quite well. Bob
