Yep, half of the time I'm amazed at the quality (or lack thereof) of the
Graphic of the month.
I was at CES too, and can now die a happy man. Went to the Luxor, and the
hydraulic ride simulator was the only part of "Secrets of the Luxor pyramid" I
got to try. I feel that "Tour of the universe", at the base of Toronto's CN
tower, and "Space race", where your wessel (er, vessel — I'm stuck in Chekov
mode) mistakenly enters an intergalactic drag race through a debris-strewn race
track, have better screen-to-hydraulics dynamics. In the Luxor ride, you never
stop moving once the action starts, and it gets repetitive after a while; or,
viewed from a different angle, the Luxor ride doesn't accomplish what the
screen tries to show, whereas the other two rides nicely match the hydraulic
effect with the film. What may redeem the Luxor, though, is the 3-part plot,
which had me quite interested. I'll have to wait for my next LV jaunt to find
out what happens to the cryatsl obelisk.
Blaq!
