> Different in the UK? Well, I currently run an A1500 (= A2000) with only 3M RAM and a 240M hard disk, and as soon as I can afford it, I'll be buying an accelerator. On the desk behind me, I have an A500 with 42M hard disk and total of 4.5M RAM. The system is used mostly for 'serious' fun. I use it for working at home when I have database-based work to do, or DTP work. Oh, yes I have a BJ330 wide-carriage bubble jet printer. And an amplifier with a pair of loudspeakers. (The audio output of my monitor became erratic, and it was cheaper to buy the amplifier than to have the monitor repaired.) Also got a 24 pin printer on the floor under the desk – no room for it anywhere else. I _do_ play games. Last night I spent some time racing on Microprose Grand Prix. Last Wednesday afternoon I played Lemmings at work (A500 with 3M RAM, no hard disk) for half an hour. The most common comment I have heard about the Amiga is "It's got good graphics", followed by "the SEGA is great, have you got one?" So the expectation seems to be that the Amiga is for games only, and I feel slightly embarassed when I tell people that I don't have time to play games on mine as I'm using it for other things. On the other hand, when a computer engineer called some months back, he said he was really impressed. Regards, Shraddhan – via Whap! from Hertfordshire in the UK
