I believe I've seen most of the thread to which you refer; I commiserate
with your dismay at your meaning being misunderstood. All I can say is that
it's so common in electronic communications that any and all participants
should practice, over and over, saying "Oh- sorry for getting on your
case!" and "Oh- sorry you took it that way!"
Most of the conversational cues which prevent (or alleviate)
misunderstandings are not present in this medium, unfortunately. Good luck
in your SYSOPing.
