Shraddhan, Even with a UPS, that will only prevent problems with short duration power losses. It won't do a thing to prevent your drive from having an error that trashes your disk…or from the drive itself going bad. Same thing with errant software, or a virus program…they could wipe out the information on your disk. I'd suggest a tape drive, but baring that…I'd take the time to do a full backup to floppy, and then do incrementals from that point on. Don
