#RetinaAGA
David, I have called Macrosystems within the last week (and GVP as well- but I
will get to that in a moment.) I was told by someone at Macro- that
"AGAemulation" is AGA resolutions, but that "Amiga animations" will not work
properly. Now, the call to GVP…I was told that their EGS board is now in
developers models only at this time and would cost around $3000 for consumers
if released with all there is on them now. What they plan to release, this
fellow stated within 2-3 months, was a board competative with Retina with
higher resolutions at 24 bits, operating approx. 5X faster, at about the same
price as Retina. He said this board would be for the A2000 only and not for
the A3000, but implied with the legalistic language they need to use, that an
A3000 card would soon follow. Sounds most promising to me, but I've held my
breathe before! And will EGS board run "Amiga animation"? One local (San
Francisco) Amiga dealer told me he thinks these high res cards may be better
than AGA when Commodore releases there new OS with what I believe he referred
to as retargetable graphics. Anyone heard more than this about those cards or
the new OS?/exit
