I remember a US computer mag that years ago ran a cover piece on MSX and
predicted it would take over the US computer market. But the 16 bit
machines arrived in time to kill it off here, apparently. Point is, as an
8-bit computer system, MSX apparently maxed out the hardware. Sanyo sold a
PC clone (the 550 or some such) that wasn't MSX but ran a special version
of MS-DOS. Not very compatible with most IBM clones. A nifty computer for
its day, though, and it's still got a following. I nearly bought one ten
years ago.
