> those twin-joystick thingies < I haven't seen one of those with MANUAL switching for quite some time now – can a dongle cope with the AUTOMATIC joyport switchers? As far as I know, these work by detecting any signal from either port and automatically switching to it. Now, I would see a problem if you have a joystick and, for example, a mouse connected to it – each time you knock at the desk on which the mouse rests the switcher switches to the mouse and if you're playing a game this could well mean a lost life… :v( As for dongles – your program looks for its dongle but unluckily the switcher has the other dongle/joystick/lightpen/whatever switched on – your program won't work (some 'dongle-ized' programs even hang your machine to punish you for using a presumably pirated copy…) and there's NO WAY of making the switcher switch to the dongle (except there was, for example, a pushbutton on the dongle which sends a signal like 'fire button pressed'… // Chris coming in from Germany \X/ on AutoPilot 1.06………..
