No, but when you read 200+ messages per night, and reply to at least a dozen,
it is a bit confusing when someone replies with a short conversational remark
that gives no clue as to its reference (other than the thread subject, from
which we possibly have wandered). [And I _changed_ this thread's subject!]
At the other extreme, Mike O'Connor told me last week that he sometimes
receives replies that quote an entire six paragraph message, only to append "I
completely agree." 🙂
A one to three line quote should be adequate to reference a message without
making the reply overly long.
