The AME modeler runs IN ACAD. It is not an add on / replace menu system like AddCadd, ketiv, etc. It runs IN Autocad WITHIN the Acad.mnu file. I am not sure how much the add-on cost is, somewhere around $250-$300 (?) range, and since it is written by Autodesk, it is virtually bug-free, whereas some add-on menu systems can be buggy. If you want true 3D-modeling with 3D files that can translate directly to 3D Studio (in DXF format or, with the help of visual link, 3DS mesh format), then AME is probably what you want; everything else is just a light.
