Also, as you said, the American date format probably is the odd one out. And I do realize that CIS is an international service, but it has many more American subscribers. I just feel that since someone has to be inconvenienced by the date format, it may as well be the non-Americans. 😎 I just can't see any other country adopting the American date format for our convenience. America is also the odd one out concerning the metric system and there have been attempts to introduce it here. Yet, like it or not, America has not embraced or really adopted the metric system. The same is true with the American and English spelling that you mentioned. I feel the same way about the dates. To use a non-standard American date format, to me, is the same as using the metric system or English spelling (colour, etc.) here on CIS. The same reasoning for using the international date format could be applied to using the metric system, yet CIS doesn't do that. I just feel that the same way that CIS does not use the metric system or English spelling, despite its international members, it also should not use the non-American date format.
